Concept

The brief of this project called for the redesign of electronic music producer, Illenium’s third album, Ascend. The concept for the album redesign was to convey the overarching theme of ascension, which is woven through Illenium’s music. This was achieved through the imagery of a person levitating into the sky, which is symbolic of having a power within to overcome and rise above your struggles.

Digital design in the form of a Photoshop composition has been used for the album design, as it connects strongly to the sound qualities of Illenium’s music. The digital design also evokes the futuristic quality of the future bass genre of music.
